Take 3, Day 14 – Okay, how many eggs did this ant lay? This is ridiculous

by NJ Ant FanPosted on August 8, 2020September 27, 2020
Pile of ant eggs
Wow! That is a crud ton of eggs right there

The queen who laid all of those eggs and the pile of eggs. Really queen, really? That is pretty excessive!

When I checked the Take 3 queens, in one of the test tubes, I saw that the queen had laid a heap of eggs. This is a queen that I caught from the nuptial flight captured in my video. The other queen of that species had far fewer eggs, but was tending them while I was looking.

A different queen tending to her brood.

There are several other queens in the Take 3 group, but I didn’t photograph them because they were very skittish, so I put them away to prevent them from being stressed. They are fine, they were just skittish. They also have brood. I currently have a total of 13 queens with brood.

Help me name these queens! cast your vote, and see which names won on Take 3, Day 21
