Take 4, Day 95 – Another pupa!

by NJ Ant FanPosted on November 15, 2020
Tetramorium queen ant with nanitic, eggs, larvae, and a pupa
This is the Pavement Princess’s colony today. you can see eggs, larvae, a new pupa, the nanitic, and the queen.

This week, I looked into The Pavement Princess’s nest, and I saw a new pupa! This pupa may become a second nanitic before winter, but I think it will wait until next year. There is also plenty of brood, which is below the queen’s head. The brood pile is enormous for such a tiny colony. These ants are faster growers than most other ants, but their growth rate is nothing compared to Solenopsis geminata.
