Pavement ant colony – 20 workers

by NJ Ant FanPosted on June 17, 2023June 17, 2023
Tetramorium immigrants ant colony with nanitics and brood.
My Tetramorium immigrans colony in their nest.

A few days ago, I fed my colonies some moist shortbread. As expected, they started feasting reasonably quickly. One of the colonies is this nest of Pavement ants, whose queen I caught last year. After the queen got her first workers, she has been doing fine ever since, now possessing roughly 20 workers and a healthy brood pile.
