Winter ant queens – Larvae

by NJ Ant FanPosted on May 21, 2023May 21, 2023
Prenolepis imparis queen ants with brood
The two queens with their brood pile.

Upon looking at my pair of winter ant queens today, I saw a much more giant brood pile and several tiny larvae. This is a significant step compared to the queen’s brood before I left for Australia, which was just eight eggs. Based on this drastic increase in brood pile size, the queens will likely get nanitics sometime in a couple of months.
