Well, I had a look at one of my other Lasius Neoniger queens, and she had EGGS! This took me completely by surprise in a good way. I have found that L.Neoniger are slow to lay eggs. In all of my other ants, after 1 – 2 weeks, they had eggs. In the case of these ants, however, it took them almost 2 months to lay eggs! Wat! I think I caught these two queens on the same day. The one that was moved to the digging nest spent a week in there before laying eggs, while this ant took a few more weeks.
