Two cocoons in a dense cluster of nanitics.

In late July, I caught several Lasius neoniger queens. Most of these queens laid eggs within a few days, which was great. Roughly two months later, the first nanitics began to arrive. Today this particular queen has at least thirteen nanitics. There is also a large carpet of larvae, but it is hidden underneath the nanitics.
