Lasius neoniger – Moar Brood, Larvae, and a Name!

by NJ Ant FanPosted on April 4, 2021April 4, 2021
Here is The proliferator from last week and Wednsday. Notice that there are many more eggs now compared to last week.

Woah! In just a few days, the Lasius queen’s brood pile has become even larger than last week! The brood pile from Wednesday is on the right and is noticeably larger than last week’s brood. This means she is still laying eggs, which is good.

This Lasius queen also has been named The Proliferator, thanks to your votes! This queen is going to have quite the colony in a few weeks, given her ridiculous brood pile. She also has some small larvae, but they are hard to see.
