Myrmica Colony!

Here is my first Myrmica nanitic.

Well, My prediction on when the Myrmica pupa would eclose was correct. I took a peek into the nest Monday morning, and saw that the queen had her first nanitic! This Myrmica .sp queen is my first semi-claustral queen to reach this stage of the colony founding process. Now that she has reached the nanitic stage, she will not have to do all of the brood tending, as her nanitic will help out with that.
