Day 7 – Checking the Queens after a week

The tiny light patch in front of the queen is her first brood of eggs

After seven days, I checked the Queen ants, and I saw batches of eggs in four out of six tubes! The two smaller queens had no brood, which was a bad sign. But the other 4 did have brood, which was a great sign. The queens were also actively tending these eggs, which is good. The bad news was, one of the smaller queens was down( both smaller queens had their wings on them still, so I was not surprised.) The other winged queen was alive, but with no brood.
