Tons of Nylanderia queens

Nylanderia queen ant with brood
A Nylanderia faisonensis queen resting with her brood.

Over the last few weeks, I have caught about 20 Nylanderia queens. As of today, most have brood. I found the majority of these queens on sidewalks or my driveway. There was one hilarious instance where I spotted a queen on my keyboard while playing video games! That queen, who now has a small brood pile, is called House Ant 2.0. She isn’t the first Nylanderia queen to get into my house on her own. It happened one other time in 2021. I also found three of these ants in a friend’s pool. While they looked dead when I took them out of the water, all three eventually came back to life.
