Upon checking Onetenna on day 49, I noticed that she now has her first pupae! Her gaster is almost a micro pancake now, so she will probably have adult ants next week. At first, I thought she was dead, but she is not because she has been moving around a little bit.

When I checked Scar Smile, I thought that she would have nanitics, but she does not. My guess is that on day 56 she will have nanitics. These two queens are doing well, and here is Scar Smile’s future home for when she has workers.

The new home is an acrylic display tank that I converted into an ant home. First, I washed the tank to make sure it was clean for when I introduce the ants to this new home. Then, I put in some red desert sand to provide the ants with scaffolding for their cocoons. Later, I added a few rocks. Next, I put in a feeding tray to act as a stabilizer for one of my sugar feeders. Lastly, I bored three holes into the lid of the tank to create ventilation, and I used blue tack to seal a piece of metal mesh over the holes.
