How is this male ant still alive after more than two months?

Brachymyrmex male alate still alive after over two months
What???

While checking in on a shelf of ants, I noticed that in this particular nest of Brachymyrmex depilis, one of the males was somehow alive. Typically, male ants are hours or days after they fly. I searched every other tube of this species, and none of the others had live males in them. The last time I caught queens of Brachymyrmex depilis was September fifth, over two months ago, when I caught a ridiculous sixty of these queens, plus one Lasius. Therefore, this male ant has been alive for over two months since it ended up in this nest. I have never seen a male ant live this long after its nuptial flight.
