On June 25th, while on a walk with mom, I noticed many ants eating nectar from flowers on a walk with mom. I decided to pick a single flowerhead to see if my pet ants would like the nectar. The head picked out was unoccupied. When I got home, I began distributing the flowers to the ants. Their reaction was very positive, with many quickly beginning to feast on the nectar. After providing the nectar a few times, I discovered that the flowers are Wild Poison Parsnip, whose sap is poisonous. Thankfully, neither my ants nor I were affected. Knowing these flowers are poisonous means I will not be trying this again.
